Röchling Industrial presents 100 Sports Oscars to Sporthilfe Emsland
State-of-the-art 3D printing technology meets regional sports promotion
Röchling Industrial in Haren is once again supporting Sporthilfe Emsland with exclusive plastic sculptures to honor the region's most successful athletes. Daniel Fritz, Chief Financial Officer at Röchling Industrial, and Günter Klene, Managing Director of Sporthilfe Emsland, met to hand over the newly produced Sports Oscars.
The trophies will be awarded to the winners of the “Team of the Year” category at the Sports and Business Gala in the coming years.
100 new Sports Oscars from the 3D printer
The globally active plastics processor has produced a total of 100 Sports Oscars for upcoming events over the next few years. The sculptures, which are around 15 centimeters tall, are created using a special 3D printing process. The basis for production is a digital 3D scan of the original Sports Oscar, which serves as the design data set for printing. In selective laser sintering (SLS), the figures are built up layer by layer from powdered polyamide 12. The result is detailed plastic trophies that differ from the bronze original only in their size and the characteristic Röchling blue color.

Award ceremony at the Sports Business Gala
This year's Sports Oscars will be presented at the Sports Business Gala on April 13. The nominees in the categories Team of the Year, Sports Personality of the Year, and Young Athlete of the Year will be announced ahead of the gala at the Sports Awards Ceremony on February 17 in Meppen.
