Due to its high chemical resistance, polyvinylidene fluoride is often used in chemical apparatus construction. Compared to other fluoroplastics, PVDF offers high mechanical strength and better weldability. Compared to other tank building materials such as PE and PP, its continuous service temperature of 140°C is significantly higher. Its unique UV resistance, high flame retardancy (UL94 V0) and high purity round off its profile. A food grade type (SustaPVDF FG natural) with European food compliance is also available.
