In contrast to the generally known transparent (amorphous) PET, which is mainly used as a bottle material, Sustadur® PET is characterized in particular by its high mechanical strength, rigidity and hardness. Its very low thermal expansion and good tribological values are also remarkable. Compared to Sustarin® C, resistance to acids is increased, but resistance to hot water is significantly reduced. The natural-colored variant also provides an EU conformity for food contact.
