Safety is a matter of trust. If there is a need for ballistic safety in and around buildings, vehicles, ships and containers, we must be able to rely at all times on the ballistic protection materials used. Whether the required protection is against shots, blasts, shattering, fire or burglary, there is absolutely no room for compromise. We offer a large selection of composites and thermoplastic ballistic protection materials. They are used in civil and military applications on every continent.

The following also applies: we test our materials under realistic conditions and continuously develop them further. In addition, our materials comply with all relevant international ballistic standards.

Beyond our ballistic product range like lightweight armor materials, we also supply structural defence materials, e.g. high-performance profiles, wound components, and a wide variety of engineered plastic parts designed for demanding applications in the defence sector. These solutions complement our materials portfolio and enable customers to benefit from robust, lightweight, and application-ready components tailored to their operational requirements.

For more than 100 years we have specialized in the processing of plastics. Today, our product range is comprised of more than 350 different types of thermoplastic and composite materials, with a variety of modifications and special developments available. We are happy to advise you on the selection of suitable materials specifically for your needs.

Low weight

DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® have a considerably lower density compared to conventional materials. This gives them significant weight advantages and allows easy handling.

Inhibits full penetration

Depending on the material, ballistic sheets made of DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® offer excellent protection against fire from medium- and large-calibre small arms.

Inhibits blasting and offers protection against splintering

Attacks using IEDs are becoming more and more frequent. Ballistic panels made of DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® are extremely effective at inhibiting blast and protect against splintering. DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® absorb splinters caused by shots and impacts and embed them safely in the material.

Fire safety

DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® are available in flame-resistant and self-extinguishing versions.

Thermal insulation

DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® provide thermal insulation by virtue of their low thermal conductivity. That makes them particularly suitable for use in areas with extremely high and low temperatures.ng agents. The results of basic tests are provided by the raw material suppliers and can be used as initial selection criteria.

Acoustically transparant and low radar cross section

Our specialized material solutions combine high electromagnetic transparency and low electrical conductivity with acoustically optimized properties, effectively reducing both radar and sonar signatures and significantly minimizing detectability.

Encasing the projectile in the material

Ballistic shields for shooting ranges, police or military premises enclose the material and melt at the point of impact.

Easy to work with

Thermoplastic sheets can be worked on using conventional tools for wood and metal. The material is also easy to screw, rivet or weld. We have extensive experience in the reliable mounting of our boards using various fastening elements.

Closing material cycles

We reprocess our customers’ offcuts into recyclate, which we use in our production to manufacture high-quality products. This way, we jointly reduce the amount of waste and close the material cycle.

Long service life

The distinctive properties of DuroProtect® and LignoProtect® are their high strength against aggressive chemicals, resistance to UV and corrosion, and resistance to wear.

Window frames and door sills

Thanks to their high mechanical stability and UV resistance, window frames and door sills made of Durostone^® profiles have a long life and require little maintenance. The low thermal conductivity helps to prevent cold bridges, while a decorative film covering lends them an attractive visual appearance.

Working boats made of Polystone® G

Working boats constructed of Polystone^® G HD black, such as fishing, police and rescue boats, are particularly long-lived and resilient. At a density of 0.96 g/cm³, the material is about eight times lighter than steel. The low weight supports manoeuvrability and fuel efficiency. At the same time, the material is resilient against salt water, oil and fuels and does not corrode. A protective coat of paint is not necessary. Outstanding UV resilience permits permanent use outdoors.

Durostone® wound components for weapon systems

With our fibreglass reinforced plastic Durostone^®, we can supply a quality range of high grade materials for widely varying applications and open up entirely new design possibilities. Range comprises small wound components up to highly complex winding support rings for power generators.

Durostone® and Glastic® composite profiles / pultruded profiles

We offer you a wide range of composite profiles according to your requirements with different glass fibre reinforcements (GFRP) or carbon fibre reinforcements (CFRP) and resin matrices. You will get your pultruded frp profiles:

with a special shape exlusively tailored to your requirements
you also have a wide range of standard composite profiles available to you.

Thermoplastic material used as bullet cather for mobile shooting ranges, bullet traps for shooting ranges, police or military premises as well as „Belgian Targets“.
