Röchling Industrial in Haren is once again supporting social projects in the region and beyond: the company is donating a total of €15,000 to two organisations. €7,500 will go to each of the Stadtjugendring Haren (Ems) e. V. and the DKMS (German Bone Marrow Donor Centre).

Joint commitment to a good cause
Röchling Industrial employees collected donations for charitable causes during last year's company party. The now traditional campaign raised almost €7,250. The management rounded up the amount and doubled it, resulting in a total of 15000 euros.

‘The commitment of our employees shows how important social responsibility is to them. As a company, it is very important to us to support and specifically promote this commitment,’ emphasises Daniel Fritz, Chief Financial Officer of Röchling Industrial.

Support for youth work in Haren (Ems)
The Stadtjugendring Haren (Ems) e. V. will receive 7500 euros from the donation. As the umbrella organisation for youth associations in the city, it represents the interests of young people to the council and administration. The Stadtjugendring also provides materials for member associations and other voluntary organisations.

‘With the money, we can specifically expand our leisure activities for children and young people. Among other things, we plan to purchase bubble soccer equipment, which will be used for various activities and events,’ explains Ute Kriens, youth worker for the town of Haren (Ems).

Donation to DKMS for life-saving help
A further 7500 euros will go to DKMS. The organisation is committed to giving blood cancer patients a second chance at life worldwide. The donations will be used, among other things, to register and type new stem cell donors, operate the donor database and search worldwide for suitable donors.
‘In our view, organisations such as DKMS do indispensable work because they provide concrete help to those affected. We also repeatedly encounter cases among our staff and their families where stem cell donors are urgently needed. That is why it is particularly important to us to support initiatives such as DKMS,’ explains Torsten Ströer on behalf of the staff.
