Greater slip resistance with “checker grain”
New surface with high slip resistance for various application areas
The international plastics processor Röchling Industrial has expanded its range of surfaces for high slip resistance with the new “checker grain” surface. “Checker grain” is exceptionally well-suited for applications with high anti-slip requirements.
Röchling has tested and confirmed the slip-resistant properties of “checker grain” in accordance with the following standards:
DIN 51097
Testing of floor coverings – Determination of the anti-slip properties – Wet-loaded barefoot areas
DIN 51130
Testing of floor coverings – Determination of the anti-slip properties – Workrooms and fields of activities with slip danger
According to DIN 51097, “checker grain” has proven slip resistance up to an inclination angle of over 24°/class C. The slip resistance of “checker grain” according to DIN 51130 is R10.
This makes “checker grain” exceptionally well-suited for applications with high slip-resistance requirements – such as sanitary areas, boats and industrial floors in the chemical industry.
The “checker grain” surface is available for a variety of extruded materials, such as the brand materials Polystone® G (PE-HD) and Polystone® P (PP). Both materials absorb almost no water and are highly weather-resistant, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. On request, the material can be equipped with UV stabilization especially for outdoor use.

Extruded sheets with the new “checker grain” surface are available in the following dimensions:
- Thicknesses from 10 to 20 mm
- Width from 1,500 to 2,000 mm
- Length up to 6,000 mm
- Colours: almost all colours possible
