History of Röchling Engineering Plastics (UK) Ltd

1986

Röchling Material Ltd. began life in Redditch with just 3 employees, followed by a move to Stonehouse shortly after.

1994

Moved to our first purpose built factory in the UK, also in Stonehouse.

2001

With another increase in machines and staff the factory moved to its current building in Quedgeley, Gloucester.

2006

Following the acquisition of the thermoplastic engineering division of GL&V group (formerly known as Perplas Engineering) the UK arm became Röchling Engineering Plastics (UK) Ltd. Consequently Röchling Gloucester became a leader in the design and production of feed scrolls, and both machined and extruded products used extensively within the bottling and packaging industry.

2007

Röchling Engineering Plastics Group acquired the US Glastic Corporation from Cignet, LLC. UK distribution for Glastic products was undertaken from Röchling Gloucester.

2011

The trade names & intellectual property of Genius products was acquired from Vitrathene Ltd. This acquisition was added to the existing Play-Tec® product to form a new leisure section to the business.

Dec 2014

Röchling expands plastic machining capacity in UK by acquiring Fibracon Twin Ltd., High Peak, Derbyshire – PTFE specialists, and Insoll Components Ltd., Hitchin, Hertfordshire - micro machining specialists. This substantially expands Röchling’s market position in the CNC machining of high-performance plastics in the UK to three machining companies. It strengthens Röchling’s position in aerospace, medical engineering, oil & gas and at the same time extends the portfolio of semi-finished and machined plastics products by the addition of Fibracon® PTFE.
