History of Röchling Hitchin

1960`s

During the 1960’s Insoll Components was founded in Hitchin by Garth Insoll. The business quickly established itself as a world leader producing PTFE insulators for the electronics and telecommunications market along with providing machining services and material supplies to the wider engineering community.

1988

Insoll Components flourished and was acquired by Victaulic Ltd. Victaulic was then acquired by Glynwed Plastics Ltd and Insoll Components remained part of this group until 1998.

1998

Glynwed decided to dispose of its polymer division and Insoll Components was subsequently acquired by the owners of Fibracon Twin Ltd.

Dec 2014

The Röchling group expanded its plastic machining capacity in the UK by acquiring the two sister companies Insoll Components Ltd. and Fibracon Twin Ltd. Insoll became Röchling Hitchin and remains on the original factory site to this day.
