With the opening of the new Measurement and Control Technology (MRT) product division, Röchling Industrial Laupheim is sending a clear signal for the future of the Burgrieden site. The expansion is an important step that consistently continues the positive development of recent years. The new building completed in 2022 was already planned with long-term growth in mind – and now this potential is being visibly put to use.

Expansion of capacities and new growth opportunities
The new department brings together the manufacturing and sales of plastic components for industrial water treatment, ultrapure water production – for example, in the semiconductor industry – as well as applications in environmental technology. The portfolio includes, among other products, flow measurement systems and pressure relief valves in various designs. This allows Röchling Industrial to expand its offering with its own product line tailored to strong future growth markets.

“We expect further growth, a high basic capacity utilization of our plant, and valuable synergies with our existing core machining business,” says Karlheinz Hörmann, Managing Director of Röchling Industrial Laupheim.

A milestone after extensive preparation
The planning of the new building was adjusted along the way to create additional space for Measurement and Control Technology from Röchling Medical Waldachtal. However, during the construction phase, the launch of the new product area was delayed, and Röchling Industrial Laupheim initially took over additive manufacturing from Waldachtal. The relocation of the Measurement and Control Technology division finally took place at the end of last year, enabling the new production to successfully start on January 1, 2026. The originally planned hall area of 1,000 square meters grew to 2,500 square meters as part of the expansion.

“We would like to sincerely thank all employees involved for their great commitment and perseverance. Many of them lived in Waldachtal for weeks or months to receive training for their new tasks – we truly appreciate this dedication,” says Rudolf Karremann, Technical Managing Director of Röchling Industrial Laupheim.

A strong signal in challenging times
With the start of MRT production, 20 new jobs have been created, bringing the workforce there to nearly 200 employees. This growth emphasizes the increasing importance of the site within the Industrial division and at the same time contributes to the economic stability of the region, as Burgrieden’s mayor, Frank Högerle, highlighted during the official opening. He described the investment as a “clear signal of growth” and acknowledged the countercyclical expansion in economically challenging times.
