Röchling Industrial to Close Décines Site

Röchling Engineering Plastiques site in Décines, near Lyon (France)

Haren, 28 May 2026 | Plastics specialist Röchling Industrial will close its Röchling Engineering Plastiques site in Décines, near Lyon (France), by early 2027. Production will cease on June 30, 2026. Customers will be supplied via other plants within the Röchling Group, from which the company will continue to serve the French market in the future.

The closure follows a sustained decline in demand for machined components in the French market. This particularly affects the construction sector, one of the site’s key industries. In addition, a shift in customer ordering behaviour away from large volumes toward smaller, more customized orders has led to significant cost pressure. Despite repeated attempts to return the Décines site to profitability, the structural deficit could not be eliminated in recent years.

A total of 42 employees are affected by the closure. Röchling Industrial informed staff at the site of the plans on Thursday, May 28. The company had already informed the local and European works councils at the end of April and initiated discussions with the aim of agreeing on a social plan. In addition, Röchling Industrial is offering a voluntary payment to employees.

Röchling Engineering Plastiques has been part of Röchling Industrial’s production network since 2000. The core of its operations is the production of machined components for the French market, particularly for the public construction sector and the agricultural industry.
