Röchling Medical, along with the Industrial and Automotive divisions, is strengthening its climate commitment by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This means we’ll setting science-based emissions reduction targets that align with the latest climate science.
As part of this initiative, we have committed to set a near-term target of annual emission reductions over a 5–10-year period.
The Science Based Targets initiative is a global collaboration between CDP, the UN Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and WWF.
It helps companies set greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets aligned with the latest climate science to limit global warming to 1.5°C and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.
Our targets will be independently reviewed by the SBTi
We’ll set two near-term climate targets:
Our existing target to cut Scope 1 & 2 emissions 100% by 2035 will be updated to meet the SBTi standards
Urgency: The latest climate science from the IPCC - described by the UN as “code red for humanity” - shows it is still possible to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C, but we are dangerously close to that threshold.
Action Required: To avoid the worst impacts of climate change, global emissions must be halved by 2030. That calls for urgent, meaningful action.

We look forward to hearing from you.
