Mannheim, 6 July 2026 | Dr Achim Degner has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Röchling Group by the group’s supervisory boards. Effective 6 July 2026, he assumes responsibility for the finance function at the internationally active high-performance plastics specialist Röchling SE & Co. KG. His predecessor, Evelyn Thome, left the company on 30 June 2026 at her own request.
“I am delighted that, with Dr Degner, we have been able to appoint a highly accomplished finance executive with extensive international leadership experience. His strategic vision, proven track record and ability to deliver results were key factors in our decision. We warmly welcome him to Röchling and look forward to working together,” says Gregor Greinert, Chairman of the Röchling SE & Co. KG Advisory Board.
“It is an exciting opportunity to help shape the financial future of a company as diverse and international as Röchling. I look forward to contributing my experience and working with the teams across the Group to further strengthen the foundation for sustainable and profitable growth,” adds Achim Degner.
Degner brings more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, including over 25 years as Chief Financial Officer. During his career, he has held executive leadership positions at the Lenze Group, Hoberg & Driesch and the Chiron Group.
Last year, Evelyn Thome informed the governing bodies of Röchling SE & Co. KG of her wish to end her contract ahead of schedule, enabling a structured and orderly succession process. Her decision followed health challenges she experienced during the previous year.
Gregor Greinert expressed both regret at her departure and appreciation for her contribution: “With Evelyn Thome, we are losing a highly respected and exceptionally experienced executive who combined deep expertise with entrepreneurial drive and a strong commitment to the company. We respect her decision and sincerely thank her for her outstanding dedication to Röchling.”
Over her nearly 26-year-long career with Röchling, Thome made a significant contribution to the Group’s financial strength and organisational development. Among her most important achievements were the establishment of the Group’s new corporate structure, the expansion of an efficient international finance organisation, and the professionalisation of key management and controlling systems.
