Röchling Donates 100,000 Euros for Flood Victims in Germany

The money goes to the region with the worst damage

The Röchling Group is donating a total of 100,000 euros to the victims of the flood disaster in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. This was decided by the Executive Board at its meeting on Thursday. Half of the money will go to each of the German states most affected by the floods.

"As a company, we also have a social responsibility. The pictures we are seeing from the flooded areas show a terrifying scale of the consequences of the flooding," said the CEO of the Röchling Group, Prof. Dr. Hanns-Peter Knaebel. According to the Executive Board, no employees have been directly affected by the flooding as far as they know so far.

"Our Industrial site in Lahnstein is only about 50 kilometers away from the flood area. We have some employees who are on site and are actively helping to repair the damage and supporting local residents," emphasizes Industrial CEO Franz Lübbers.

CFO Evelyn Thome is also grateful for the commitment of the colleagues, not only from the Lahnstein site: "It is important for us as a family-owned company that we also live our values in social life. With our donation, we want to help alleviate the suffering that has occurred."
