Your tasks:

  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor planning and costing.
  • Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
  • Updates and Maintains standards, operation records and process information in production and accounting systems. Oversight and maintenance of manufacturing operational standards and yields after review with manufacturing and finance.
  • Updates and maintains supply service and raw material costs as changes occur on the standard cost work sheets.
  • Oversight and maintenance of engineering masters in Visual including Bill of material (BOM) and operation record. Act as a backup to Engineering.
  • Participates in collaboration on approval of Reviews engineering specifications and operation records for live and new products. This includes the evaluation of modifications to existing products and the effect on product costing.
  • Manages all aspects of new product costing by developing data with engineering support to assist the Request for Quote (RFQ) process.
  • Performs new employee orientation training and other operational training of employees
  • Leads and manages significant elements of the company’s operational excellence efforts, including operational excellence training, 5S system, Lean, 6-sigma, OpEx Teams, key performance indicators, continuous improvement, operational communication systems, and other best practices.
  • Manages improvements and new process implementation using Project Management Process
  • Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Refines processes to improve productivity, ergonomics and safety.
  • Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Develops and implements 5S and Lean methods through planning, training, implementation, and monitoring to ensure success.
  • Leads teams to improve operational performance and coordinate projects such as moves, operation changes, new process implementation.
  • Develops management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
  • Utilizes manufacturing software to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, law suits, and insurance investigations.
  • Devises, supervises, and coordinates training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
  • Confers with management to gain knowledge of work situation requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.
  • Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
  • Documents training utilizing Human Resources and MasterControl software
  • Adhere to all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Follows the official policy for Good Manufacturing Practices as required in the Medical Device Amendments to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
  • Provides feedback and pro-active communication to supervisor, management, and co-workers to ensure efficient and effective operations. Contributes input to management based on knowledge of processes toward process and product improvement efforts of the company
  • Provide other department and manufacturing support as requested by immediate supervisor.
  • Actively participates in and supports the OpEx efforts of the Company
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May act as a temporary back up to manufacturing supervisor.

Job requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Industrial Engineering; and at least 5 years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years’ experience working in teams with 1 year in team leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of 5S and lean methodologies and leadership in implementation and development of these systems in an organization. Demonstrated Leadership of Continuous Improvement type teams, cost reduction teams and project teams utilizing project management skills. Participation in six-sigma project teams. Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in calculating standards, preparing quotes and reports. Demonstrated mastery of Manufacturing and Documentation programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write training programs. Ability to effectively present information to top management, groups of employees, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
